Contracts on awarding 15 packages of construction material officially delivered in Grocka to rеfugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia
Today, on October 14, 2019, contracts for the award of 15 packages of construction material to refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia residing in the territory of city municipality of Grocka were officially handed over to this families. The assistance was granted under the Regional Housing Program (RSP) in the Republic of Serbia, subproject 2.
The value of one package of building materials is a maximum of € 9,000, and funds are provided from the donor Fund of the Regional Housing Program, the largest donor of which is the European Union.
Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Commission for Coordination of Permanent Integration of Refugees, Vladimir Cucic, Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Zivadinka Avramovic, Mayor of Grocka, Brigit Kuhar, Program Manager European Union Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, Andrej Kazakov, Head of UNHCR Field Service in the Republic of Serbia, Jelena Tomic, PR Public Sector Project Management Unit and others.
"Thank you all for your patience. I know how hard you live and how long you waited for this help. I want you and your children to live in much better conditions now, to stay here and never move again under duress, ”said Commissioner Cucic.
"Today is a day for new hope, today we celebrate life and survival. That's why we're here. Our state is dedicated to providing assistance and care to all refugees from the territory of the former Yugoslavia and is trying to provide assistance to all who need it, "said Minister Dacic.
The Regional Housing Program is a joint multi-year program of the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia, which aims to provide permanent housing solutions for the most vulnerable refugee families in the region. It is supported by the OSCE, UNHCR and the Council of Europe Development Bank, funded by the European Union, which is the largest donor, the United States, Germany, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain , Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
